Waldo Goes GREEN
Team 1547 wants to make the world environmentally friendly! One of our initiatives within our team is, “Waldo goes GREEN”. We promote being environmentally friendly at competitions and in the community. At competitions, we hand out recycling bins to other teams so that they can be as green as we are. This initiative teaches other teams how to properly recycle, while we take care of the collection of waste at the end of the competition so that we can recycle it properly. Furthermore, we have a bike that we bring the pits at competition that recharges the battery for our robot as we pedal! Girls from the team get a work-out while charging our batteries in a sustainable way. The school also has energy audits down on the design and tech lab, where the robotics team builds. Team 1547 hopes to make the world a cleaner place to live.
And now, some tips on how YOU can be a little more GREEN

| Do laundry in cold water - many detergents are available that will make this easy. |
Use a reusable coffee cup and bag. |
Donate clothes and other goods that you don't use any more. |

| Drink tap water as opposed to bottled water. |
Turn off the lights when you leave the room. |
Turn off and unplug the computer or your cell phone charger when you're not using it. |

|
| Have your computer go into sleep mode instead of a screensaver. |
Open the curtains on winter days and close them at night. |
